Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time- The Movie

Defy The Future…

I am a huge fan of the Prince of Persia games. I played all of them including the original POP, PC version. I am a hardcore fan, and when I found out that the Prince of Persia movie was going to be made, I was over-whelmed!! They announced it in the summer of 2009 and from that time onwards, I was an year till this epic movie was released!

The story has changed slightly compared to the games. This time it’s about Prince Dustan’s – Our main hero- childhood. He was an orphan lurking around the streets, stealing food and always getting into trouble with the guards. One, the king was wandering around the streets of Persia, when he saw Dustan’s bravery when he saved his best friend’s life. He adopted him, and soon he was named the Prince of Persia. Compared to the game, the Prince was born into the Royal family. He then encounters a tragic event when his father dies. Little did he know it was his Uncle Nizam. He sets on a Journey to prove his innocence to Persia, with the beautiful Princess Tamia. She is the Guardian of the Dagger, but the Prince does not know this. When he realizes the Dagger’s power, he sets another journey to find more sand, so that he can reverse his father’s death. Then the movie continues with Drama, Action and Thrills.

They have integrated the game play from various Prince of Persia games onto the movie itself. The moves, the setting, the characters, they were all so nostalgic and awesome!! It felt like I was playing the game. On top of that the music was fantastic, it brought a Persian atmosphere to the cinema. Overall I loved this movie, i would recommend it to people who have played the game and for those who haven’t! The story, graphics, music and the actors they are all excellent!! Before watching the movie I thought Jake Gyllenhaal was a wrong choice to play the Prince, he didn’t seem fit for the role. But after watching, I have changed my mind, he was awesome!! He acted so well, and he looked truly fit to be a Persia Of Persia!!
