Avatar: Movie Review

So I watched Avatar in 3D on the 1st of January 2010 and i had to expectations for it, i only knew the basic plot of this movie. I read many reviews saying that this movie was awesome beyond reason and now i know why…

So just to summarize this whole film:

There is a beautiful earth-like planet called Pandora and it withholds a valuable stone called unobtanium, which is worth $20 million per kilogram back on Earth. Parker Selfridge (Head of the mining operation) employs an army to make the Navi go away so that they can retrieve the stone. These Nava are human-like creatures whole live underneath the richest bed of unobtanium. Jake Sully a former marine, is recruited to Pandora as a replacement of his twin brother (who died in a mugging incident). So Jake has his own Avatar and runs of into the wild. He meets another Avatar called Neytiri, she helps him by bringing him back to the Hometree and trains him to become one of them. As Jake grows closer to Neytiri he slowly movies towards the Na’vi’s side. *SPOILERS* At the end he is on the Na’vi’s side and he helps them defeat the humans by recruiting all the other Na’vi’s from all over the Planet. After defeating the humans they are expelled from Pandora, while Jake and his closest co-workers remain. Jake is seen wearing the insignia of the Omaticaya leader. The film ends with Jake’s “soul” being transplanted into his Na’vi avatar.

The graphics in this movie were outstanding, i have never seen anything more realistic than this. Sometimes i even felt that the Na’vi were real and that the plants and the whole planet was real. The hair on their head seemed so real that you really couldn’t tell the difference between CGI and real life. When they show the plants and other creatures which live on Pandora you can see the detailed texture on each object especially when the scenes took place in the night (everything glows). This story is by far the most unique plot i have ever seen. The characters where introduced very nicely and as the movie goes on you grow more closer to the characters and find out a little bit more about them. Moving from real Jake to avatar Jake was really smooth when he was an avatar he seemed like a completely different person.

So overall i suggest you watch this movie in 3D! Everything from there language to the clothes they wear, they seemed like they exist. you felt like you were there! I enjoyed ever minute of this movie and i haven’t seen any other movie like this before. So go get your glasses on and enjoy :D
